We advise and conduct research at the interface between the healthcare market, science and politics.
As a consulting and research company, we position ourselves at the interface between market, science and politics. In this area of conflict, we offer scientifically sound concepts and strategies as well as product- and topic-related consulting. We investigate practical health care and health economic issues, for example, on the regulation and market access of pharmaceuticals and medical devices. This also includes the related issues of SHI reimbursement as well as prescription and pharmacy obligations. Political communication of the findings and results of our investigations often plays an important role here. To this end, we organise and moderate workshops, discussions and discussion groups and initiate the corresponding scientific publications.
In developing our projects, we draw on our many years of practical and scientific experience in the health and pharma policy environment.

Executive management
Cosima Bauer M.A.
Cosima Bauer M.A. is a political scientist and administrative legal expert. She is a co-founder of the management consultancy May und Bauer – Konzepte im Gesundheitsmarkt (May and Bauer – Concepts in the Healthcare Market) and as a lecturer at the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences as well as in the professional training of pharmacists she passes on her practical and scientific knowledge. She has gained political experience and special expertise in health policy in Berlin and Brussels as well as six years of work for the Bundesverband der Arzneimittel-Hersteller e.V. (Federal Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers) in Bonn. Her focus is on health and pharmaceutical policy, social market regulation as well as strategic, creative and regulatory issues of market access, pricing and reimbursement of drugs and medical products in statutory and private health insurance.
Prof. Dr. rer. pol. Uwe May
Prof. Dr. rer. pol. Uwe May is an economist and health economist. As Dean of Studies at Fresenius University of Applied Sciences, he is responsible for the Master’s program International Pharmacoeconomics and Health Economics (M. Sc.). He is co-founder of the management consultancy May und Bauer – Konzepte im Gesundheitsmarkt (May and Bauer Concepts in the Healthcare Market) and was a lecturer at Charité University Medicine Berlin and Cardiff University for many years. His focus is on health and pharmacoeconomics, cost and benefit assessments as well as conceptual and strategic questions of self-medication and the pharmacy market. Due to his expertise in questions of regulation and system design relevant to health policy, Uwe May is a member, speaker and discussant in various expert committees as well as an expert in political hearings.
